Short Scale Bass

I do love it that my Birdsong weighs less than 7 lbs. Makes it easier to do all my pretend-rockstar moves.:D

So that’s the big brother to the Junior Jet II? The "real deal" one, so to speak?

Or, anyway, not sure on the right way to put it, but, the one with the heritage from "back in the day"?

Looks sweet
Real deal and it is sweet.
Professional level instrument for a hack like me.
$2,700 MSRP
$1,999 street.
Usually $1,700 or $1,600 on sale once in a while
I got it used less than a year old with OHSC without a single nick, dent, ding or scratch for $999 on GC used.
Was shipped from Shreveport, LA to Lancaster, PA and I picked it up during my lunch hour.
Just couldn't believe it. I don't think that particular GC store knew what they had.

I enjoy all scales but when I grab my shorties, it feels so comfortable to play one finger per fret across the whole neck. I am a pocket player so I make a living in the first five frets. On a shorty, it is just more comfortable.

Definitely. I usually use SIMANDL method up to 5th or 7th fret on long scale, but FPF works great for me on SS

Im really becoming a fan of a short scale bass.
Been plunking a bass 50+ years and my old shoulder really is enjoying less weight and stretch.
Anyone else finding this enjoyable?

I've always had a short scale in my stable and several years ago I started playing them exclusively. Much easier to play and they control dead spots much better and sound more even.

I think all the different technologies has caught up to the lions share of short scales.
I have a Kiesel Vader short scale, Reverend Wattplower, Gibson EB3(Frankenbass).
I have owned a host of others- Alembic Stanley, Gibson T-Bird short scale, Chowny SWB-1, Turser Beatle bass,
Fender PJ Mustang, Squier Mikey Way Mustang. a few others.
For my stature and hand size, the shorties can help. I still play 32" and 34" scales, but comfort lies with the shorties for me.
