I am looking to try black nylon tapewound strings on a 30.5" bass, does anyone have any idea where I can find a set? I tried juststrings.com and didn't see any, but maybe I am missing them..

Short Scale Tapewounds

I just picked up a set of Roto 88's in short scale from Musician's Friend a couple of weeks ago. Somewhere around $30, if memory serves me correctly. I've got them on an SX P shorty - great sound!!!

Go back to JustStrings.com and do a search for Beatle Bass.
You'll come up with these La Bella Electric Bass Guitar Hofner Beatle Bass Black Nylon Tapewound .060 - .115, 760NHBB.... Call them before you buy to confirm fit. They have great customer service and are very knowledgeable. The Beatle Bass is 30" scale so I'd recommend the call before you buy. I'll look at my bass tonight and see if there is a half inch extra that can be used for a 30.5" scale.
