Short scale

Once again. Thanks for everyone that replied. Got the SBMM short scale dropped copper yesterday. Did not find anything wrong. Tuned it and it played and sounds terrific. I played it in all settings of the pickups. Wasn't the best sounding on the bridge alone. Now I have another problem. The wife ordered the gibson lp jr dc then the hofner ignition club. She finally listened to the reviews on both. She liked the hofner!!! Both arrive today! I will check both of them out. Can any one give me advice on the hofner???
Thanks for any information you can give me.

I have a bunch of SS basses including and EB and SBMM Stingray, as well as an Ignition Club. I love the Club. Its the lightest bass I own and it sounds great once you get used to the odd electronics. Pretty versatile too. Only reason I don't use it is its not so great for upbeat funky stuff, or slap. Or at least I haven't yet found a setting that works. My band does a few Dua Lipa tunes and I couldn't play them as I would on any other bass. The slapping BOOMED way louder than finger style, and digging in on the funkier stuff did sort of the same. Outside of that, the bass is awesome IMO.

I've never tried a short scale bass. What's the difference, apart from the length of the neck?
The sound? the feel?
I'm very curious about trying one. I know that there the Jaguar and the Mustang from fender but are there a lot of models?
Well, it generally feels like a bass (whatever flavor you try), the big tactile difference is going to be the left hand reach. I have a bum left shoulder, so a change to SS was required. To my ear, and this is where people with better ears will probably differ from me, it sounds like a bass. TBH, I've not noticed much of a difference in sound from this to my previous 34"'ers. Other people will say there is a large difference. (This is only my view. No animals were harmed in making this post.)
