Short string in set?

Decided to string one bass up with D'addario chrome flats, since it needed new strings anyway. I bought a set of ECB81 (light, .045-.100, long scale), opened the sealed package, and put them on. Here's what I got:

I think someone stuck a medium scale string in the set at the factory. What do you think?

I took it back to the store today and just got stellar service from the associates; even the shift manager dropped by to look at it. The conclusion was the same: no one had ever seen a bad set of strings from D'Addario before, but this one was surely mixed up. They opened a new set, compared strings, and gave me the new one. Problem solved.

And I know it's fashionable to bash chain stores, but I just have to say the people in the Sam Ash Indianapolis store have always been great to work with. Yeah, the managers know me because I'm in there a lot buying stuff, but it has never mattered whether the sales associate knows me or not.
