Double Bass Shostakovich bass parts?

Hi TB folks,

I'm trying to find pdfs of several Shostakovich symphony and chamber symphony bass parts, and wondered if anyone has a good source. I'm happy to pay, but cannot find anything available except pocket scores at the moment.

No Shostakovich is public domain yet, but many of us have scans of some pieces. Which do you want?

Did you take a look to the archives of the New York Philharmonic? There are some bass parts also from Shostakovich, but I don't know about your "special demands"

You'll have to go to a music library or ask your local orchestra:

All works by this person are still under copyright in Canada, the EU, Japan, and elsewhere and are thus subject to deletion. The works are also probably copyrighted in the U.S. if first published after 1926. (See public domain.) An exception is if the person or copyright holder allows IMSLP to use the works in a manner similar to a work in the public domain. @LaFaro01 I saw the part on the archive site. It's watermarked and unable to download. I was hoping to print it off to practice from. Thanks for your help much appreciated.

Is it possible and legal to get a practice part from the music library of whatever orchestra you are playing these things for? I've had pdfs of pieces not yet in public domain made available to me prior to first rehearsal, and always was under the impression there was no violation of copyright law in that. Could be wrong?
