Should I adjust the truss rod on Warmoth neck for bigger string replacement?

Hi all, I am replacing EXP D'Addario's medium lights (I think 40-100) strings with .045-.105 coated DR Extra Life’s. Should I tighten the truss rod a bit? How much? Clockwise right? I'm asking because with Warmoth necks you have to remove the neck to adjust and I don't want to take it on and off to many time, it makes me nervous. Thanks.

You can adjust half a turn and see how the neck takes it - seriously, this really just depends on trying and seeing if it works - i doubt you'll get a concrete answer as all necks are different.

Wait until you see how much the neck moves. Put the strings on first and WAIT a couple of days until the neck settles.

Ok, I'll give it a day or 2 and the n adjust if needed. It looks to me as if it needs it, the neck is bowed a bit and the action is much higher than befor. If its that noticeable should I adjust today or still wait a bit?

Yes, go for it , I would put the new strings on first if you haven't already, so you know how much you are off.

Be patient, it'll take a few days for the neck to settle

EDIT: If it's THAT noticeable, just go ahead and adjust, but do it in small intervals, it's a long process to get it perfect

Thanks all, if it is still real noticeable tonight I will tighten it a bit, ~1/2 turn. then Ill wait till monday and see if I need more adjustments. I figured I would probably need some adjustment due to the larger strings, I'm just nervous to take my neck off and on with the bolt access is in the heal.

Oh, befor i make an adjustment i forgot to mention that I am a lefty, i read some where that lefty truss rods are threaded differently than righty. I this true?

Why would you need to take your neck off? I wasn't aware any basses needing the neck taking off for truss rod adjustment. Seems like bit of a design flaw!

I'm not sure about left handed truss rods being different, I would place a large bet on them being the same as right handed, as I can see no reason they wouldn't be. You will be able to see and feel what's happening. If it starts feeling easier to turn, its obviously the wrong way and you are un doing it.

Why would you need to take your neck off? I wasn't aware any basses needing the neck taking off for truss rod adjustment. Seems like bit of a design flaw!

Warmoth necks have the adjustment at the heel.

If you cut an adjustment slot in the body removal isn't necessary.
