Should I Be Concerned?

Damage looks like the very outer area. Inside looks sound and as you said it has no issues. Keep

Like i stated before
i put a little mark with a green color marker and used an allen key with loose strings out of the way and was able to do quarter turns either way and saw the mark move , that tells me the truss rod works just a bit worn out …

I bought a mint MIM fender jazz from GC that was like this, I sent it back. It may be a sign that the neck is not stable and needs frequent adjustments. Final test? How does the neck grain look? Straight up & down or all directions?

It does have a lot of circles or grain run-out. Here is my fender, has them also, not as pronounced. The other is a Ray4, it is more just north/south pattern. I live in NW Fla. so always humid! Necks seem to stay calm. The grain run out does not necessarily mean neck will be unstable ideal neck has straight grain Funny my cheapest bass has the best neck grain. Go figure.
