If you mod it, won't it affect the resale value?
Depends on what you'd use for inlays. If its abolone type then could be nice. If just plain blocks, nope, and would say simple dots was better fretmarkers then plain blocks.

I voted no, and I am a blocked and bound neck freak! 4 of my 5 basses have block inlays and the fifth is my rosewood boarded fretless.
My reason for no has to do with what the inlays might do to your tone when you slide or finger over the inlay vs the rosewood. It would be a dramatically different tone, wouldn't it? I'd love to hear from anyone who has a block inlaid fretless.
I suppose if you did the inlays then epoxied the fretboard that might even out the tone....
