Should I change the pickguard?

Simple enough question... I have an '08 mim Fender P bass special, black finish. The thing comes with a gold vinyl pickguard. Should I change it out? And if so, to what color?

Btw, where can I buy one that will fit the 4 knob configuration?

I've seen those gold plastic ones up close and I have to say, I'm not a big fan .

If you are going to change it I would find a black one that has a white layer so you have a white outline.

I am sure there is proper terminology for what i just said but I just don't know it.

I have also seen some pretty sweet diamondplate pickguards?

I agree though. I changed the gold on my Fiesta Red/Maple, but I think it looks good on the black/rosewood.

Keep it gold. Many people have seen the tortoise and like the tortoise, so that means stay with the gold.
