Should I get an iPod?

i got one....last summer, its dying now (the battery) so now i have to get a new one?

oie

and keith, not for you it doesn't my friend :D

They sell battery installation kits for iPods online (which includes a new longer lasting battery, a tool to open the iPod and instructions). You need to know your exact model when ordering. It's easier to change batteries on the older - larger iPods and more work for the newer ones.

Fortunately I live near the annual SF MacWorld expo and can get the battery changed just the cost of the battery.

I got an iPod Classic 80 GB. I love it. In fact, this is an upgrade from my 30GB 5th Generation. iPods are very user friendly have feature gapless playback. They win IMO. Tons of other people always mention getting something other than iPods, due to features, bad experiences, or anything else. Well, I've always been a fan of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well, my iPod's have never broken in the past 4 years I've owned them.

I actually don't like the IPOD type MP3 player

I have one like this instead...

you simply plug it into a spare USB port the computer recognizes it as an external drive then you just create a play list in either WMA or MP3 format drag and drop.....

no special software or interface needed...

and it fits in my pocket

they also have watches now with MP3 players...flash drives, and digital voice recorders built right in

I ended up getting a Zune. I don't like the little circle control thingy that the IPOD has.

:eyebrow::confused::eyebrow::confused::eyebrow::confused::eyebrow::confused:

Is that not a circle on the Zune? Looks it to me? What an "interesting" comment. It's not functionality or ease of use or sound quality that's the gripe, it's the circle thingy...

And the sound quality argument...you iPod haters do realize you can sample your MP3s at higher bitrates, right???? I haven't bought that much music online, mostly like a physical copy...and I sample higher...my iPod sounds fantastic.
