Always return when possible. I live in Queensland, Australia and a couple of years ago I bought from a South Australia shop a new 2014 Gibson SG Bass, walnut and beautiful, well except for the stupid up in the air bridge which was rectified in 2015. I digress. Queensland and South Australia in distance apart are probably like Virginia and Alabama. Anyhoo, the SG arrived and the mudbucker (front pup) had little to no volume. I contacted the supplier who asked me to take it to a Gibson outlet in my own state for a warranty claim. To cut it short, Gibson were as useless as boobies on a bull, offered no help. In the end the local guy said that he could replace it with an Epiphone pup or have it rewound, I went for the second option so as to retain as original as I could. Eventually got the SG back, took about six weeks in all, but alas the front pup still doesn't have the output it should have. Said SG is currently locked away in a cupboard rusting. I'm now looking at having to sell it at probably half price or less. Bummer. Should have said no way Hose, here's your axe back, show me my money.
