If I could have edited my original thread about this tune at Burning Spear - Shout It Out - Help with the syncopation / feel, I would have.
After some consulting with a few individuals, and some drummers with solid credentials (both in reggae and in music composition) I settled on a half-note triplet over beats 2 and 3. It's clear that the bass is not playing straight on the beat.

Given Robbie's recent passing, I'd like to eventually transcribe all the songs on Dry and Heavy, as well as a couple other Burning Spear albums.
