Not me. I'll go with a six to match my Epic fretless 6. But an Epic is SO "economy"! Just look at that "to die for" wood! I'm gonna have dreams about this!
The only question is how many years of college it takes to be able to understand what all the knobs do?

wow, this thread was started ALONG time ago............
over the years, i've had three. i bought a long scale series one brand new in 1975 (can't locate the pic), and '75 short scale series one with leds (looked just like Stanley Clarke's) but sold them both quite a few years ago, so i bought this distillate 3 years ago (and i'm keeping this one!). i love it:

Wow! An Alembic Urge II!!!! That should be really interesting. Are getting a similar control scheme with all pickup combinations available?
And I have to ask - are you really going to cover that flame with black paint?

Maple body core, walnut and quilted maple top
Maple and purple heart 5 piece neck, brass nut, dual truss rods
Macassar ebony fingerboard, oval mother-of-pearl inlays, side LEDs, first fret marker, 26 frets
Stanley Clarke signature electronics, side mount jack, brass sustain block

Huge fat bottom with a shimmering zing when you turn up the Q knob. Lovely for playing triple stops and quick runs across the fret board.

Looking at these photos, it really is more reddish than it appears in the photos. Here it looks more brown, but the true finish has a lot of red in it.
