Show Me Your Bypass Loopers... Please?

New Switcher/Looper from Mooer announced at NAMM 2016.

I couldn’t find too much info on it (couldn't find anything about it on the Invalid Link Removed).

Following is a ‘feature list’ from Invalid Link Removed and from the writing style appears to be taken from a Mooer product sheet:

Features:
  • The Pedal Controller L6 is a six programmable loop switcher.
  • Double Buffer circuit design on the front and back minimizes the signal attenuation.
  • Particular live mode simply operated as a pedal.
  • Glowing panel design, any effect name can be clearly seen even on the dark stage (*I* think this is cool).
  • Tuning table jack and the built-in tuner design increase the double insurance for your intonation.

I would really like to know the dimensions of the L6. I know it's a Mooer product, so it'll most likely be diminuative. I guess we'll find out more when the unit approaches the production stage.
 
Here's a pic I found on the Invalid Link Removedshowing the L6 in use. You can get a rough idea as to the size of the unit (which appears to me to be a bit larger that I had anticipated):

That's quite large, and I'm confused by the labels for the patches. If it's programmable, then why would someone want to write the pedals on each one? It's really cool that those panels are backlit, but the whole thing is just too big. I think one of the Joyo ones is more the right size.

They might have used a china marker (sometimes called a grease pencil) or a chalk marker (like the Invalid Link Removed), both of which may be wiped or rubbed off.

It really does look rather large, especially for a Mooer product.
 
I'm picking up the Super8 this evening... Haven't decided how I'll use it (if it even works after I attempt to solder it together).

However, I've also got a parallel looper to build and a flip-flopper as well as a feedback looper...

Super8 has, as its name implies, 8 loops. I was thinking of routing everything that goes into it with a Bored Brain Patchulator 8000:

I have zero use for a patchbay, but I want that thing just because it looks so flippin cool...like a patchbay and the TARDIS had babies.

I group pedals in loops in the order I prefer them. Line selector (used to select bass), tuner, boost and HPF (under board) before the looper, then loops of 1) filter/octave 2) compressor/Fairfield Barbershop (both always on, but I want these after the filter and octave), 3) overdrive, distortion and fuzz, 4) phase shifter, chorus and reverb, and 5) volume (I prefer this out of the signal chain when not in use). I pre-select the pedals in each loop so I can easily add then during songs with the looper.

With things ordered a little differently, that's what I think I've settled on, at least today.

Now I just hope a good priced one with a master bypass comes up used.

There was a loopmaster 5 with tuner out in the classifieds for $85 but if you go to their website they have the same one for $89 brand new. Not sure if it has the master bypass though.
I'm thinking that one would be the way I'm going to go.

Loop master has a choose your own bypass looper. For 99 you get 6 switches, which can be configured to any way you want. The op would probably want a 4 looper with tuner out and master bypass.
 
thinking about it now, tuner out does seem useless to my needs. I'd just put it in front of the loop with my compressor.
I hear what you are saying here, but one of the whole points of these loopers is specifically keep pedals out of the chain. The minute you start putting a pedal in front and/or a pedal in the output jack, you are defeating one of the main purposes of these things. Of course, you may have a much higher threshold of tolerance for this, but for me this is why I love the tuner out function of my Loop MAster. I did go thru a period with it where I had my always on pedal in front of the looper to save a loop for another pedal, but then I thought to myself "just get another looper with more outputs."
 
I hear what you are saying here, but one of the whole points of these loopers is specifically keep pedals out of the chain. The minute you start putting a pedal in front and/or a pedal in the output jack, you are defeating one of the main purposes of these things. Of course, you may have a much higher threshold of tolerance for this, but for me this is why I love the tuner out function of my Loop MAster. I did go thru a period with it where I had my always on pedal in front of the looper to save a loop for another pedal, but then I thought to myself "just get another looper with more outputs."
If you by "one of the main purposes" mean tone suck from a bad bypass then I think that is way overrated. I have 15 pedals in the audio chain on my main board and no audible tone degradation. Maybe it is measurable but it is not audible, certainly not in a mix. I would not sacrifice one effect loop on the switcher for a true bypass tuner. If you make a comparison and do hear a difference, then by all means, but if you don't then I think the loop is worth more as an effect loop.

I don't necessarily mean tone suck from a bad bypass, but it certainly is one reason. My main reason to not have a pedal plugged into the front or end of the looper is because I like to use these things for what they were designed for.....minimal cable runs potentially messing with my signal. I hear you about noise not being a problem, and don't even disagree, but for me personally I like the elegant nature of the design of bypass loopers, and the (perhaps placebo) effect of having my signal as "pure" as possible when I'm not using any one particular pedal.
