Show me your compact pedalboard setup

How do you like the Subway +? I got interested getting the original but since the plus has come out just focus has shifted to it .Looks like a beast.
So far, I absolutely love it. It is a big pedal, but it replaced my Broughton HPF so, I have enough space on the board. In terms of features, I am very impressed--particularly with the voicing and HPF features...combining these two together allows for a much cleaner and beefier low end. I like the layout as well...everything in a row...it certainly makes it easier to quickly make changes. I can not see myself needing another preamp ever! Its just that good, IMO.

I have used the DG AOU, Vintage Ultra, Le Bass Two Notes, Aguilar Tone Hammer, Ampeg SCR...the Subway+ is a notch above all of these for preamp features. I can't speak for how well this works as a DI.

I’ve been itching to try one and you are selling me hard on it. I stopped my search after stumbling across something similar to the broughton messenger...

Latest iteration: Pitchblack Advance -> Sub N' Up -> Corona -> Microtubes X7. (Plus the B1on. Which isn't oficially on the pedalboard, but I keep adding it in different places in the chain for trying stuff out)

Finally getting around to posting mine.. I'm extremely happy with this setup, although a Noble will replace the Tone Hammer when I have the money to pick one up. This guy is perfect for me; small and mobile, very nice for fly dates and direct gigs (most of my gigs nowadays).

Wireless - Doc Lloyd Photon Death Ray comp (LOVE this thing) - Empress ParaEQ - VT bass - Broughton HPF - Tone Hammer

A nice clean, strong signal. The Doc Lloyd provides smooth but big and round compression, I can make any eq fix I need with the Empress, the VT for when I need a big 80s kinda sound, HPF to clean the signal and cut the mud, and finally the Aggy provides me a lot of versatility to dial in different amp-sim tones. All on a Metro 16 board, fits in my carry on luggage bag perfectly. I am very content :)

The Photon rules!

The Photon rules!

It really does! I didn’t know what to expect and there wasn’t much info on it, but from the reviews I read it sounded intriguing. I immediately sold my diamond. I loved that and the special something it added to the tone of passive basses, but the photon is in another league imo. It also adds something special, but to my ears it is more refined and fat than the diamond. And being able to run parallel is the icing on the cake. I usually run 50/50 dry and wet, with the comp turned way up. The result is fat, clear and open tone for days on active or passive.

Finally got my board exactly how I wanted it. Funny but not intentional how the knobs increase by one as they go up the chain. Just got the Smoothie and used this setup for the first time on New Year’s Eve. Was the perfect way to end the year and my pedal quest! Everything I desire tone wise is attainable anywhere with this pedalboard...

New Year = New gear. Got the Gunslinger for Christmas and used it as an excuse to rearrange the whole board. I had the Octamizer in the X-Blender loop but I tended to use the octave soloed anyways so its now before the blender. Since I have the Compressor as an always on pedal I opted to move it under the board and raise the whole thing up. Lowes only had white feet which adds character I guess.

The signal path is: TC Electronic PolyTune Mini > MXR Bass Compressor (underside) > Aguilar Octamizer > Xotic X-Blender > Aguilar Chorusaurus > TC Electronic Spark Mini > TC Electronic Flashback > TC Electronic HOF Mini. In the Blender Ibanez TS Mini >EBS Billy Sheehan Drive > DOD Boneshaker > DOD Gunslinger > DOD Gonkulator > TC Electronic Vortex Mini > MXR Phase 95. All on a Pedaltrain Metro 24 board

Way happier with the setup now. Better pedal order, more sounds, fits better in the case, and all that good stuff.

If that's compact I'm slim :roflmao:

I actually somewhat envy people who have "their sound" and know exactly what they need.

I wouldn’t say I’m quite there yet, but getting closer. I do have a sort of rule for myself. I try not to buy any gadgets unless there’s something specific I need. I picked up the OC-3 because of one specific riff that was just dying for an overdriven octave sound. I still only use it on a couple tunes.
