I had been making do with a homemade board, which was nice, but it didn't fit in my rucksack so setting up was a pain. Also, two Eden 15v pedals meant four sockets were needed: 1 for the amp, 2 for the Eden pedals, and 1 for the cheap (but surprisingly good!) 9v supply I'd been using for the other pedals.

Ordered a Harley Benton Spaceship 40 with hardcase, which is well-built and ludicrously cheap. On the Thomann USA site it's $73.99! Includes roll of backing velcro, too.

After much much searching, found the best power supply for me: A Palmer PWT-12 Mk 2. 8 9v outputs, 4 variable between 9-18v. Add in a couple of Rockboard Power Ace Polarity Converter cables and we're ready to go!
So it's two basses (A Lakland Darryl Jones and a Lakland 55-02 fretless) going into the Radial Bigshot, Tuner out to the D'Addario, main out to the Eden Glowplug, from the Glowplug into the WTDI and from there (normally) into the amp. T-Rex Quint octave pedal and Boss CEB-3 are in the effects loop. If there's no effects loop, then it's patch cable from the WTDI into the T-Rex and then line out from the CEB-3.

Still to be added are a Boss AW-3 (which I already own), leaving a space free for some sort of overdrive in the effects loop as well. I'm leaning towards the EHX Bass Soul Food, what are the thoughts around here?

And because it took such a long time to find a power supply that can do multiple 15v pedals, I created a thread just to make it easier for others in the future: I hope those with enough google-fu will be able to find it!

Helpful thread: Power Supplies for unusual voltage requirements

Here's the full home practice rig: for larger stuff, I have a 300w Ashdown 410 half stack.

After a lot of fiddling, I’m going to try and not switch anything up for a month and really explore this setup.

Tuner>bassist comp>bass Klon klone>super Russian>octave>manta (phaser on one, envelope on the other).

How do you like that Super Russian? I used to have a W&C Tall Font and really liked it. Considering the SR now.

Source Audio Aftershock ended my seemingly eternal quest for the perfect dirt pedal, with the Neuro App I can dial in exactly what is want/needed on my computer or phone.
Nice board and basses and +1 for the Quint works great with the Aftershock (and C4)

It’s great. The options are all really useful (mids switch and dreamer switch) and the germ buffer boost sounds really good on its own.

Added the Zue On Timer. Not sure if I had the Helix phaser on the board since my last pic, so that may be new as well. I also switched the position of the Bigshot and Q\Strip - better for sending signal to the mixer.

Love my Radial Bigshot! Managed a six-second instrument swap at a wedding on saturday.

If I'm right, looking at your board, we have a freakishly similar philosophy. I'm guessing top row is direct signal path, bottom row is all in the effects loop, with the polytune going from the tuner out on the Bigshot. Am I reading that correctly?

It's exactly what I've done with my board, just different pedals!

What interests me most though: What's your review of the Helix? I'd be pretty interested in getting one of those myself...

I go into the Bigshot, through the bottom row, and then into the Q\Strip, no loops. They're all true bypass pedals, and I don't notice any signal loss or degradation.

I searched a long time for a good phaser pedal that would work well on both guitar and bass, and the Helix fit the bill perfectly. Very little loss of low end when using it with bass, and it's pretty flexible. I haven't even gotten into the toneprint function yet. The Hall of Fame ll is another story - while it's a fine reverb, I've heard better, and some pedals like the EH Canyon seem to have a bit more functionality, so I may get one of those at some point. But so far, totally happy with the Helix. Here's a clip from our show last weekend of the Helix in action - it's at the end of Fast As You.
