My B2B (passive) steiny is still a great bass, and it's resale value is higher than the original purchase price here in Tokyo.

It is the perfect bass for taking on the trains here, or in my case riding a motorcycle from place to place, kind of a Ninja thing slung over the shoulder.

I remember when I saw Kenny Thomas supporting Level 42 last October his bassist was using one of the walnut topped jack basses with the two jazz bars instead of humbuckers.

Here's my B bass:

I've been playing it in a Blues band and been very happy with it. A through-neck for that money ( I bought it secondhand for about $300) is great. I'm going to replace the bridg pup with a Seymour Duncan Basslines MM5 as I don't get on too well with the EMGs, but can't fault the construction or the action.

I also have a JJ Pro shown here on the left:

This had a terrible accident and I had to replace the neck with an early (70s) Japanese copy neck which is an exact copy of a Jazz and superb. Again, I can't fault the construction or action, but not keen on the pups - maybe DeMarzio Ultrajazz would be the answer here.

Here are shot's of my daughters Hohner P Bass copy. From what I can tell it is from 1988 (the serial # starts with 88) We picked it up last week for $150.00 (early X mas gift). It has the holes for teh bridge and pick up covers but she doesn't know if we should get them or not. I am very impressed with the quality of it and it was as steal!

She is 12 and has had her fretted Ibanez for a few years but loves the fretless feel from her electric upright. So far she has been doing great on the fretless and hasn't touched the Ibanez since her concert last Sat.

One of my friends has a Hohner P-bass, but he doesn't know which year it was made. It has 4 screws in the neckplate. Maybe somebody knows the answer

I had one too! Unfortunately the neck did warp all out of whack when I moved from humid Montreal to drier climate in Finland. It was a very nice bass!
