What are the good, cheap T-bird pickups? I have some Eric brand Chinese pickups in my Rickenfaker that are pretty damn good, and I see they have some T-bird style.

Were I buying reasonable Thunderbird pickups, I'd choose Gibson's current offering, they use them on the recent re-Issue Non Reverse Thunderbird. They have a good lo-mid and mid presence, same size as original Gibson from the '60 and reasonably close in tone. Sweetwater has them @ $129.00, I replaced the Epiphone 760s in the bass with them - Love it.

Yes, very different. I like them much better! You can buy them from Sweetwater as singles, they are stock in the Re - Issue Non Reverse Bird.
Shameless self promo, pardon the mediocre playing.
Thank you.I like the color combo a lot FWIW...
Dig it! The PG is a nice touch.
I assume this is closer to "proper" thunderbird pickup location, rather than P position?

A Mexican '51 Fender neck with a custom made body and the pickups are in 60's T-bird locations.
It's not in there standard options. You'd have to ask them if it's possible as a custom order. Is this an option for routing at Warmoth? I have a P bass neck here that NEEDS a body.

Thanks for asking them! Sorry to hear it's not available, though.Just got a message back, they don’t do that route apparently.
So, I've been mentally preparing to build myself a 51-style P bass this summer/fall. Here's what I've sketched up so far, intending to use 2 Tbird pickups, inspired by @J. Crawford's Bluesman. Front pickup hits the 51P single coil location, and the rear pickup hits the Rickenbacker bridge pickup location.
It'll be a few months before I start on this, but I'll be joining this club eventually...
