I really like the Bubinga 4-string. I have always wanted one pretty much exactly like that. I used to play one when I was taking lessons still. the owner of the store there used to let me play anything he had in stock during my lessons, it was fun.

Actually, that was my first bass. I still grab it to this day. I picked the bass because I thought the wood and options were cool. I got it on consignment for $900 and the Cirrus became the standard. Rather than trying to find other basses that can play like the Cirrus, I decided to grab more of 'em!
Dangit!!! The only thing causing me the slightest bit of GAS is a Cirrus 5. And like an idiot I had to open up this thread.

The bubinga/walnut with an oiled finish. Very nice bass!
That is one of the nicest bubinga tops I have ever seen. Normally I'm not a great fan but that one is beautiful.

Funny thing is I have never owned a USA Cirrus. I have have a bunch of other USA Peaveys though. Hopefully, I will get a nice Cirrus five or six in a year or so. This year is going to be a slow year for gear, unfortunately.
Here's my Millennium, it has variable mids, a feature that now is only on Custom Shop Cirruses.
I'm not really a neck-thru guy, but I've played these basses and they are outstanding, period, price and brand name aside. I've heard these basses referred to as a "poor man's Smith", presumably because they share similar design and tonal character, plus a alot of Gospel players around here play both(one or the other). What do you C-rus owners think about this? I'm not trolling here or trying to inflame, I kind of think it's a compliment in a way, I'm curious what you think.

Hey Spade, What is the differences between all those? Besides the obvious difference in colors and the number of strings they all seem like the same bass. Are there electronics / pick up differences or differences in the woods that make them sound different from each other. Or are you just a collector of Cirus basses.
