Thumb rest when on bass side, tug bar when installed on treble side...I use middle finger and ring finger under tug bar and for either thumb play or alternating thumb and index finger, also helps me easily adjust bass/strap shoulder position when standing or moving around without the possibility of flubbing a note...

the only bass I have with any, is using these sticky drawer bummer dots, mainly because the pickup edge is sharp.
