I do not have a great picture of the Koa he has offered me yet becasue he has not done the final cut and book-matched it, but it has a really unique birdseye pattern in the middle of a somewhat light-blondish area surrounded by gorgeously grained, dark Koa. As soon as I have a decent picture I will post it...
Here is an example of the Koa sample...folks, the Koa or the Walnut, what do YOU think? The Koa sample would be book-matched. Also, see earlier in the post for the Walnut...thanks for the input (in advance)!
Another variable with the koa to throw in is to check out orientations on which way you'd want it facing. Koa and walnut can both exhibit interesting figuring patterns, but the various shades and hues of the wood can really add to it, especially when you add the symmetry after bookmatching. Subsequently, I was planning on ordering some sort of Rob Allen bass with a crazy walnut top later, which is probably next.
