At the time it was $AUS5000, which due to the rock bottom prices on the Aussie dollar was about $US2500. Putting that in perspective, a Sadowsky in Aus (then) was $7,000 and something like a Modulus was about $4900.

Now, my bass would be more expensive, and the Aus dollar has increased in value. However, the cheapest Alembic here is still $4300 for the base model!

I guess it was expensive, however it has really paid for itself in terms of my enjoyment, I love to play it (it is hands down the best playing bass ive ever held) and it has tone for days - I wouldnt trade it for anything!
