Here is a video/ soundclip of my semi hollow 6. It’s been awhile since I’ve played with with frets! The bass has a nice clean/ clear tone. These are D’addario round wound strings. I’ll try flats next.
Sounds great.

Was there a problem with the bass?Just got my acoustic bass back from Martin...
I dropped it first time that I took it out. Had the finish repaired. The wiring also kept coming loose from the preamp. This will be remedied with any future version of the preamp. I'm probably planning on having a new pre put in at some point, with a bass control and possibly a treble control, both controlled by mini pots that can be set and left alone. Still need time playing the bass live to tell for sure. My bass is a bit of a test instrument to work through all of these things. Was there a problem with the bass?
Because it's an acoustic bass with a piezo it has to have a preamp .Otherwise I'd more than likely I'd go without.Sorry to hear about the heavy gravity issue you had.
My Elfins are both passive so I have had zero issues with them; the Citron pickups sound great all by themselves.
Same bass, slightly different tack, musically.

Martin's basses offer lots of room for personal creativity.
You could always get the bass painted!![]()

Contact Paper | DesignYourWallI actually contacted Martin a while back asking him about getting it refinished. He was quite hesitant to have the work done because the finish he uses is VERY hard. He mentioned that it would probably cost me more than I'd be willing to pay...so we left it at that
In all honesty though, the woods he used are so nice, it almost seems a shame to want to cover up the natural color![]()
Martin's instruments are all custom. It's best to shoot him a message about pricing, even if just out of curiosity.Nice basses.
What is the ballpark range of prices for these instruments?
The TI's have more mid focus and are a bit more loose feeling. The LTF's are more balanced frequency wise.Post a sound clip when you can! I just ordered a set of T.I.’s for mine. Should be here mid week. Curious how the ltf’s compare.

I think this may be the bass seen on Keith's website:
