I dropped it first time that I took it out. Had the finish repaired. The wiring also kept coming loose from the preamp. This will be remedied with any future version of the preamp. I'm probably planning on having a new pre put in at some point, with a bass control and possibly a treble control, both controlled by mini pots that can be set and left alone. Still need time playing the bass live to tell for sure. My bass is a bit of a test instrument to work through all of these things.
Because it's an acoustic bass with a piezo it has to have a preamp .Otherwise I'd more than likely I'd go without.
The gravity issue was a me issue. When you think to yourself "that probably isn't a great idea"......definitely listen to that voice. I didn't. Hahahaha

Love it! This sounds like a great track for short film.
I've recently recorded some tracks for a friend who wants to start a trio project. Hopefully, I can post them here when they've been mastered. While I can't give Martin full credit for its tone (it has custom SD NYC pups and Pope pre), I can say without a doubt that the playability is hands-down better than every other bass I've owned. The neck shape, placement of bridge (feels VERY comfortable for 34.5" because of this), body shape and balance, etc. all make for such a great experience every time I pick it up--I just wish it were teal blue (gassing hard for a teal bass; how utterly vain of me
).
You could always get the bass painted!

I actually contacted Martin a while back asking him about getting it refinished. He was quite hesitant to have the work done because the finish he uses is VERY hard. He mentioned that it would probably cost me more than I'd be willing to pay...so we left it at that
In all honesty though, the woods he used are so nice, it almost seems a shame to want to cover up the natural color

Martin's instruments are all custom. It's best to shoot him a message about pricing, even if just out of curiosity.
Martin shot me a message the other day....he's working on a new design. I'm incredibly excited about the idea. Send him an email to find out. It's something that will bridge the gap between the solidbodies and the hollowbodies. 
The TI's have more mid focus and are a bit more loose feeling. The LTF's are more balanced frequency wise.

Where to begin... This bass has many features I desire in a bass - zero fret, super comfortable neck profile, lots of tone combinations from the Stellartone system, trussrod adjustment at bass of neck, and extremely lightweight. I have several active basses, but my favorite tones come from this bass and another passive Warmoth bass. This bass neck is extremely stable, and plays amazingly well at all registers. It handles the low-action setup without any buzzing.
Honestly, I don't feel worthy of this bass . I saw it at a local bass shop for many months, and when I played it the bass seemed to be built for me. The bass never sold, and was still there when the shop announced it was closing it's doors and many other basses had sold. I am not one for 'signs', but this bass just seemed to be waiting for me. So, I picked it up! One of the tuners busted a few months later, so I contacted Martin to ask what model I should order. He shipped me a new tuner, free of charge, and was very friendly throughout. He asked me to ship the broken tuner back, so he could do some quality control - he was clearly interested in maintaining very high standards. I lost the tuner, never sent it back. Now I feel bad...
But back to the bass - it is a pleasure to play!
