Thanks. I use a Tecamp Bonafide though a Epifani 4x10UL. I prefer my 1x12UL's for the RA but when I uses my electric bass I normally bring the 4x10.

Hej Christian! Darn, I was hoping you were using your 502, because then my next ? would be on how you had your eq set :smug: I'm still fiddling around to find the sweet spot on the RA/502 combo, and your tone sounds cool! I got some good ideas from Kjung that I'm trying on a "MB-2 only" gig Wednesday, but the RA/Tecamp match sounds like a good one.

I'm listening to your clip as I post. Really nice!!!! Beautiful tone and nice playing. And yes, the TecAmp voicing is beautiful with the RA basses IMO and IME!!! I'm having very good luck with the TC RH450 also.

Hi Ken! I'll give you a shout back on how it works out for me on wednesday! I've been noodling with those low mids over the weekend, driving the rest of the house nuts. I think I got it, but you never know before the gig.
Oh, btw, did I ever mention that it's MY mb-2, that hits you SMACK in the face when you open Robs www? :hyper:

I didn't know that. THAT is an amazing looking bass.

Yeah, I'm hopeful for you that you can get that rig to work with the RA, but as we discussed, the huge lows of that amp combined with the single mid control makes it a bit difficult to 'bring the wood out' in the RA tone (at least for me when I owned a 502). However, with the right blend of low bass cut, low mid boost, and a bit of cut with the treble in the 6K position, it might sound pretty darn good.

Let me know, and good luck!

I love my MB-2. It sounds so great! Wonder if a fretted would just a great without a preamp! I would love to get a Deep 4. They looks great!

Here is a clip were I uses my MB-2. This is a song I wrote as a tribute to Béla Fleck. Played with own group called Humann'O'Project. Enjoy

Great tune and tasteful playing from you and the rest of the band.
I just traded my Roscoe fretless 6er for a MB2 5 and it feels like home. I sold my first MB2 to fund the Roscoe. So now the 6 string experiment is over and I'm so happy to have an RA on my wall again.

I set many Bonafide totally flat and set the taste knob around 11. The 502 sounds pretty good with RA to. I tend to boost the bass a bit.

One thing about the RA is really learn how to play it. I mean you get totally different sound when placing the right hand different places. That's my experience :smug: Also my strings about two years old or something like that

I have another clip from my own camera. The camera is longer away from the stage. The bass is a bit loud in this take

That taste knob is perfect for the Rob Allen, and I set it about the same way.... it rolls off deep bass and upper treble and punches in some mids at the 11 o'clock setting... kind of like an 'opposite enhance' control. Great for bringing out the mids and 'woody tone' of the RA!

Another nice take! And the bass is not too loud ;) YES, they really are sensitive instruments - so many different tones from small technique adjustments. Must have the highest voice-to-knob ratio out there.
I've found myself having to turn the bass just a tad DOWN, and boost the very low mids a bit. At home it sounds sweet boosting slightly at 200hz, but I'll know more after tomorrow, where I have a gig using just the RA.

Here's a quick little clip of my fretted Mouse through the TC Electronics bass rig. Just FYI!

Edit: For some reason, the clip died on YouTube. I'm uploading a fresh copy. It should be available through the link below in my sig soon.

Nice! Makes me want to add a fretted Mouse onto my order.

I need to get one of my DB buddies over here again to play my fretless Mouse on a clip. My intonation is just too ragged (never really went to school on fretless).

I tell you what, with a guy who knows his way around a DB, and with the right rig and EQ, that fretless Mouse is scary close to a 'modern DB tone' IMO and IME.
