Off topic, but:

Ok, what is the forth axis? I can not for the life of me figure this out. I can figure out X,Y and Z (depth), but what is the forth? I know that I am going to feel like an idiot for this.

The 4th axis can be any other axis than the usual 90 degrees apart ones.

IME usually the first additional "axis" is the polar, the angular rotation of the workpiece in the direction of any XYZ plane. Usually done with a rotating table fixed to the bed.

Angular control (tilt) in the XY, ZY or ZX plane is also handy and combined with the rotating axis makes the programming a world of joy , but the results are quite astonishing too.
