Nice rig! Is the Peavey Firebass 700 like the Peavey MAX 700?
I have a Firebass, which I took in for servicing the other day. When I went in to pick it up, I hooked it up to one of their display rigs to make sure all was OK. I was wondering the same question you were, and they just happened to have a MAX 700 on display, so I compared the two using identical settings. I've conculded that they are virtually identical. The knobs are the same, in the same position, same features, etc. The only difference (that I noticed) is that the Firebass is carpetted, whereas the MAX has tolex.

That is down to the model, my firebass has torlex

The Max700 is just a different face to it, and there are a fair few different firebass faces, one is even white!

Nice...I just picked up a Peavey MAX 700 last week and am loving it so far! It's has plenty of power, I can dial in the tone I want and it could probably survive a Nuclear strike - built like a tank! I also baught a speaker cab and will be posting a pic very shortly!
