Good god! your rack weighs more than me and im not exactly a small Lad ;)

but any way great gear
how loud is the Ag500 212 setup what type of music do u play
dan

Actually, I miscalculated as I thought my rack was about 40 lbs heavier than it really is. :hyper: Should only be 160 or so.

Re: The AG500 + GS212 - It's loud as heck. I'm in two bands, a 9 piece funk band and a metal trio. For the funk band it's plenty, and for the metal trio it'd be enough - but not AWESOME. :)

The RBI isn't going to be used as a preamp in my setup as the DB680 does that quite nicely. What I'm going to do is use it as a distortion unit in the effects loop ofthe 680, and then use the switch control function of the G-Major to turn it on and off via a MIDI controller.

New blast it rig:

I am actualy shocked how good it sounds... I took the Black Widow apart and cleaned it up (gotta love old school peavey), and now it sits on it's side with nice non skid feet.

cheers

I'm currently, at least for the next couple of days, cab-less.
I should be getting one of my new cabs soon, and i have to wait a little while until the 'right' second cab comes, but i'll make sure to show off all my new stuff soon.

Good golly those amps are beautiful!!! If I lived closer I'd offer to keep the tubes from building up carbon* until your cabinet arrives. :D

Nice photo too!!!

*Very old joke from my teenage years in the early/mid '70s when we were cranking up my friend's brand new Fender Vibrolux and upon his mom's objection, told her that we were burning the carbon out of the tubes (like we had to do with our cars) and would be finished shortly...to which she gave her blessing...

Yeah... :) The speaker didn't sound right, so I took it apart... Yes thats right Black Widow's are FULLY serviceable, there was some crud behinf the dust cap and around the voice coil so I cleaned it up put it back together (I wish I had taken pics as the speaker itself is beautifull), and now its amazing. I am tickled pink for 300 and change! The acoustic sound really nice to, much more clean than the 360 and others like it.

Thanks man...

Alex

p.s. I also put non-skid feet on the side, so now the cab sits on its side with the head on top - looks better. Also its sanse Peavey logo...

It's time I get in on this dog and pony show:

The stuff isn't racked because I've got a 12 space shock rack en route. All I need is a pair of wirelesses, the sansamp RBI that I also have en route, and a G-Major, and I will never want (amps) again.

Thats what they all say... basturd *shakes fist*. how hard was it to find that db 728? how does it sound? as soon as i crap out 3K i plan on considering maybe possibly getting near one, if possible. BTW, were are you getting the rack from and who makes it?

That rig on the right is - BY FAR - the best amp setup I've ever heard. The clarity of the 680 plus the gigantic tubey depth of the 728 is just *it* for me. I had been using a 680 with a Carvin power amp, but after I played through a DB359 I realized that power tubes were what was missing from my sound since selling my '73 B15.

The rig on the left, though, is no slouch either. I got the AG so that I could build a ridiculously huge rack and NOT have to use it all the time. The AG gives me that luxury and if I pair it with the 412 it is PLENTY loud. Having something that sounds that good, is that loud, and that I can throw over my shoulder is great.

The DB728 wasn't hard to get...just had to keep checking For Sale: Amps - and it wasn't anywhere close to $3k. Do a search in Amps and you can see what they've been going for lately. (A lot cheaper than you'd think.)

The rack is a shockmount ProCases ATA case I got from some dude off ebay.

My rig is FINALLY complete:

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

It's a Gallien-Krueger 2001RB, complete with a GK Neo 212 and a GK Neo 115.

As a solid-state stack, it's taller than an 8x10 cab with a tube amp, but somehwat narrower, and conveniently portable - 64 lbs. + 54 lbs. for the cabinets, and 40 lbs. for the amp. Compare that to an 80 lb. Ampeg SVT with a 160 lb. Ampeg 810E!

It's loud enough that moving the master volume slightly above "0" results in an instantly suitable practice volume, while anything above that will make the neighbor complain for sure :D

...and it sounds SWEET!
