How about some contrasting Starfires?

clean 1970 with active ACG EQ-01 filter preamp and dual Bisonic pickups
VS.
road-warrior 1967 with passive unheimlich swiss-army-knife circuit

Both are amazing. 1970 is my #1 favorite bass ever, but 1967 gets more use as it's more low-maintenance when it comes to travel accommodations; gig-bag optional, chillin in the trunk okay, outdoor weather friendly, etc.

Fender Ultra Jazz V and Precision Pro V with hipshot aluminum bridge
These basses contrast not only in looks but in electronics. The Jazz has 2 noiseless pups with a 3 band active EQ and a really descent passive setting with a passive tone control. I changed out the tort pick guard for the black pearl that matches the block inlay neck markers. The p-bass is as simple as it gets, 1 passive pup with tone and volume. I like the hipshot aluminum bridge as it brings out a bit more of the p-bass RASPY TWANG. I love them both.

contrast; the state of being strikingly different from something else in juxtaposition or close association.

When posted in the same post - the key word may be "strikingly different from something else" ...

As in, "butter" ...

...and a bass (that plays like butter...)
