Each of my #1s has stayed in that position for about 10 years, starting in 1988. The first two were both ash bodied, natural finished fretlesses with ebony boards, built in the same factory: one Music Man, and one G&L. They were basically the same thing, except that the G&L had two pickups, and the Music Man had one. Then I moved to these two in series, which are quite opposite, aesthetically speaking:
