James Hart's Bag End sure is cool, as is Passinwind's DIY setup. I humbly submit my EarCandy. At first glance the Bag End looks like a horizontal EarCandy (which most Candys are). This Candy is custom in the sense that the buyer gets to choose wood type, wood finish or tolex color, grill, handles, corners, speakers, 4 or 8 ohms, connections, vertical or horizontal orientation. Not quite as custom as say...Low Down Sound or DIY. Because I already had some great sounding cabs with the typical black carpet/black hardware look, it was time for something different. When ordering, the visual part of this cab was just as important as the sonics. As I've stated elsewhere, the surprising thing is how good it sounds. And it's fun to look at. Aren't we supposed to be having fun? ;)

Edit: Oooops. Forgot pic with grill removed.

That EarCandy is SWEET looking.

I'll submit my BFM Omni 10. Awesome sound. This photo was taken when the cab was functional but not fully finished (needed to trim some of the carpet and add corners). I should really update it.
And since someone always asks, the switch turns on 2 or 4 (or none) of the tweeters.

+1

I gig all the time with standard-issue black cabs. I'd prefer to have something nicer looking in my living room for practice purposes. That's a killer looking cab you have there!

I finally hauled the 3-way DIY cab in the picture to a gig on EUB a couple of weeks ago. In all honesty, it blows away my commercially made cabs big time. I expect the new 1-15 cab I'm gluing up today to be even better too. I was going to use Duratex in a custom color on my new ones, but I'm finding the beautiful figure of the maple veneer (some birdseye, even) to be compelling me to stick with either a stained or natural finish. My wife would prolly shoot me if I used paint or rat fur anyway!

Kaiser:

Woofer: Eminence 3015LF
Midrange: B&C 6MD38
Tweeter: Ciare 1.38TW
Crossover: DIY, I've done a few different iterations. Right now I'm at 1st order low pass at 725Hz, 4th order high pass L-R at 775, 1st order low pass at ~3K, 4th order high pass L-R at ~3.2K.

The 1--15 box is a slightly tweaked EV TL606 design. It weighs 44 pounds.

The top box weighs 27 pounds -- high power inductors are heavy and some of the wood panels are solid oak! I have all the crossover components in the top box, and a Speakon output on it that plugs into the woofer box.

DIY guitar cab rebuild conversion to 2 x12 bass cabinet.
Ported design using WinISD.
2 Eminenence Delta 12 LF drivers.

Complete discussion of the build is here.

Unfortunately, pics were lost from the thread during a TB software conversion,
but I can post them, I still have them if there is an interest.
