Trying to figure out this one - can't be a '60-'61 J cause I'm pretty sure they didn't offer that pewter finish then (late '60s introduction) and no clay dots. Must be a "in the style of" kinda situation.

Details! We need details!!
Dynacord is correct. It's a CS. I think at the Bassment but don't recall. You would think the CS could afford a Spitfire but I guess time are tough.Trying to figure out this one - can't be a '60-'61 J cause I'm pretty sure they didn't offer that pewter finish then (late '60s introduction) and no clay dots. That would motivate me to get back to the shop! You will feel better. When you return to the shop and start creating again you & TB will be the better for it.If I ever get feeling well enough to get back into the shop, I'll finish this one up...It still has a long way to go though.

Do you customize actual vintage basses or new basses that simply look vintage? I ask because I'm planning on doing some reversible mods to my 68 500/1 and almost everyone is telling me not to do it. Folks instead think I should just restore the bass. That's not really my interest, though. I wonder if you get the same flack? If I ever get feeling well enough to get back into the shop, I'll finish this one up...It still has a long way to go though.
