Another cool bass on eBay - Joe Lewis's (Conway Twitty's bass-player) '52-'53 P bass. White pg's came later. ('55?) This could be a white pg from the late '60s Tele bass because the early black (bakelite) and white pg's had 1 screw tung-bars, not two like on this one.

Post phenolic saddles ? - not sure when the switchover happened but would have assumed a '52-'53 would still have phenolic saddles.

This is also somewhat confusing as the early P-basses had large string ferrules and this one has smaller ferrules. Not sure what's going on with the D ferrule hole...
