Is that a mahogany body?
Yeah. It’s a weird beast. Near as I can tell, a 76 or so Fernandes lawsuit bass. I got it from Japan. A fender decal had been put on it. Plays and sounds amazing, and I couldn’t pass it up for under $500 shipped. It’s a beast of a bass. Eventually I’ll put a fender deluxe bridge on it so I have 4 saddled and the string through holes should still match up. Anyway, it’s a really interesting, cool bass.
I think a hog anybody and a maple neck make a great tone combination. I used to have a G&L 1K HOG that was a total tone monster. It was heavy, but man what a great sounding bass. I can only imagine what yours sounds like.![]()

Oh man, I had an Artist with the MOOG card in it when I lived in Germany and it weighed a metric ton! Clubby neck (not the good Fender kind) and would intermittently crap out till you wiggled the card or bonked it on the end pin. That I do not miss.I foolishly parted with mine as it was too heavy. However it was lighter than the Gibson RD Artist I traded it for while high school.

Another excellent drop. Those two top stack knobs are great. Is the bottom to the two an oxidized Sonic Blue?
hard to say
Looks to be a bit cooler than Olympic White and it's quite glossy for the wear. Maybe a custom finish.
