SHOW YOUR DISTRESSED FINISHES!

I like that a lot even though I'm usually "meh" on natural finishes. I like how the check lines are darkened. It's got character. I do however find the pickup screws mess with my OCD.:cautious:

The absence of a pickup messes with my OCD.

Didn't even notice that! :D Must have been pics of a 'work-in-progress'. I agree about the look though, I've had a '70s Tele guitar in my hands with a thick checked/cracked finish like that and it wasn't something that appealed to me - especially since it was a boat anchor!

I owned one of these back in the '80s - very short-scale and sounded strange. (hollow "Reso-Glas" body with a bridge piezo-like second pu) It sounded like it was being played in a plastic shower stall. This one has really been played judging from the wear on the neck! It is actually a fun little bass - I took it on a plane trip once and it easily fit in the upper storage compartment!

Slight derail - I watched this hoping they would talk about the Jazzmaster/Jaguar design more as it became so influential and referenced by Japanese makers in the '60s ... but it was worth watching anyway, especially seeing pics of your friend Dave in his store being thanked at the end of the vid. (20:05)
