It's cool seeing the green and turquoise Precsion Special's which being from 1980 are now 40 yrs old! Sounds 'vintage' to me!

35 years ago when I was playing Buffalo and Rochester around the same time that Billy Sheehan and Talas were playing, every bass player was modding their basses like that. Didn’t matter if they were playing the Holiday inn or the Penny arcade. You couldn’t see a bass player anywhere that didn’t have a bass that looked like that.

That's so true! I was in Omaha Nebraska and stripped the cherry finish off my relatively new Gibson EB-3 because stripping ones bass to natural in the late '60s/early '70s was commonplace. Today it's slapping a Babic HM bridge on your bass.
