It is an ambered clear coat as Shoreline Gold was the only gold offered in 1964.
The pre-CBS Fender custom color chart from 1964!
I don't know... but I call BS -
1975 Fender Jazz Bass black overspray over Sunburst factory painted that way. | eBay
I'm going with Firemist Gold on that one. Have seen it on other late '64s. Shoreline has more brown to it - like the Cadillac @JIO posted - even with ambered clear.
Grey primer makes me wonder if this came from Australia. Apparently (I've heard some people assert this but do not know it to be true) the Australian distributor refinished many Fenders in Fiesta the same as Selmer in the UK and the Italian distributor. The Australian ones used grey primer - something Fender never did so far as I'm aware.
That is sweet! Probably weighs a ton, but beautiful!
Nice! Looks like a bubinga fingerboard.Lovely Framus "Strato Deluxe Star Bass" that is in Switzerland

Capri Orange, which would make that a '79-'80 International Colours J... but I don't think they had bond necks. Maybe a re-fin of an early '66?
I have an SB600 (set neck). My cover band is playing Hungry like the Wolf and it nails that tone, but I'm only good for 1-2 songs with the weight.I owned one of these in the early 80’s and it was a beast. I ended up trading it for a G&L L-1000. It was mahogany and slightly less heavy.

I had one of those when I was in Germany years ago. Maybe that's it lol.

Weight is definitely a concern when I’m considering a bass now.
Amber'd Sonic blue over black?
That looks like a comfortable player!
