The 4 dots of WEAR between the bridge and the strap button look very suspect. I guess that could come from restraining over the years, but we've all seen much older bases than this that did not have that WEAR.. restringing..........

I’m with you…. While there are documented cases of factory finishes over bursts, this just doesn’t “feel” right. The wear on the burst especially looks wrong, like a sand job, instead of the way poly of the era wears. I’ve bought and sold literally hundreds and hundreds of vintage instruments over the years, and this one just seems off. If I had it in hand I could tell 100%, but it definitely doesn’t feel right from the pics.

Yes, I love that model Framus - have never seen one with gold metal (anodized aluminum? brass?) Thanks for posting! Framus made some cool basses. (and mandolins!)

That looks pretty gold for Shoreline - must be a very aged-amber patina. You get a hint of the original hue where the bridge cover was.

It is an ambered clear coat as Shoreline Gold was the only gold offered in 1964.

Normally Shoreline Gold does look like that, but in this case it looks ambered. Unless they have the listing wrong. You could always call Rudy’s and find out.
