This FCS bass is listed (on Reverb) for $5,700. It's a bit shocking considering the totally artificial/unauthentic "relic-ing". I have seen many FCS relic's that are very believable/well done for that kind of asking price. Maybe it's a joke...

Here’s a couple Fenders with distressed finished I’ve had over the years. Man I miss that 1960 P. Should have kept it. I’m slowly building up a stash of cash for the right 59-62 slab board P again.

Some forget or don't understand. His bass wasn't a special early 60’s jazz bass. It was just an early 60”s jazz bass. Any one in that style will get you there, oh and his chops!

Well yes, that too - but artificial relic-ing (on any bass for that matter) can represent a high-level of skilled artisan work. For what looks like an obvious machine-made "relic" to be sold as a FCS product, for that kind of money - is unacceptable. Along the way in my thread, I have posted very similar (bad machine-made) examples from China selling for under $400.

Well, that relic job was pretty clean back in 1965. I dunno some of the stuff coming out of Vince Van Trigt’s shop is pretty convincing.

Yah, Burns not 'of London'. If it were mine I'd flip the control plate so the player reads the words while playing. I think Hofner's do that. Is it yours?

Yah, they've been around since at least the early '60s. I prefer it and use one on my custom basses.
