Ok, so I have moved a little deeper to hard rock than I have in the past. I have been playing blues bands for years and usually I have to adjust the lows and low mids depending on the room to limit boomyness or add bottom.
But with me playing with a band that covers lots of modern or recent hard rock I am finding I am adjusting the amps' eq all over the place from song to song and its getting a bit frustrating trying to get a decent, consistant tone that I like and will be heard out front.
I'm at work (I should have a bumper sticker that says "I'd rather be talkbassing" and yes I am gaffing off at work!) so I have no pics, but when I go home at lunch I will post some of my EQ settings.
Anyway, I would just like to see what you guys are doing to get good tone and what type of music your playing those settings. I love funk but I have never been able to get a good eq setting for my setup either.
My current rig is a Carvin R600 with a 2x10 and 1x18 cabinet ran with a Schecter C-4, SX Jazz 4 string and a 72 Fender P bass with no effects at the moment.
I run with the graphic EQ on even though it has a parametric EQ because it just sounds like it adds a little body to the tone. I'll post pics soon.
