The original for me.
1963 P, owned since 1967, repainted about 1970, a couple years later the truss rod broke and I had to replace the neck for a gig. Unchanged since 1972, every screw, wire and piece of hardware original. Flatwound strings installed about 1972 and never changed.
If you can't funk with this, you ain't funkin' at all.
absolutely drool worthyYour bass 40 years in the past.
New pots and tort. All else is OGView attachment 4751403
My gigging band plays blues and classic rock and our singer/BL is adamant about not playing disco, funk, or anything that's purely dance music.
Mine...1983 Fullerton AVRI '59 (I've been told). Fender 5020 flats and sounds SO funky. I don't have foam in the bridge area right now but it only takes a second to pop one in.

Maybe I can finally put this mystery to rest. Did the 62 come with a gold ano PG? This one had it when I bought it from an old codger that said it was on it when he bought it new but I've never seen one with the ano PG. It also has the proverbial Fullerton bump in the lower cutaway. Do the 62's have that bump? Serial Number is V016XXX.A Fullerton would be a '57 or a '62 reissue. Rosewood board, yours should be a '62.
