Yep, I know. I was trying to make use of term "road worn" because it has to do with the road worn basses.
I was right!!!!
I used to have quite a few maple board basses, but now there's only two in the collection...
Fender Am.Std. Jazz
And my faux birdseye maple offering... Status S2-Classic with phenowood fingerboard.
VERY CLASSY JAZZ! my favorite combo...
And possibly the coolest status I have ever seen (except the one in Chris Wolstenholme's hand of course)

Made in Japan, around 1985. 
It was my christmas present for last year.
Typed "Neck Thru Bass" into ebay, and that bad boy popped up.
I BIN'd it in ten minutes.
Im not sure if you can tell from the pictures... but it's Neck Thru. And not Maple Neck With a Maple Fretboard.... that bass is Mahogany!!! with a Maple Fretboard.
Threw in a Set of Dimarzio pickups... and it rips.

It sure does twang. And by twang, i mean, the notes almost jump off the fretboad.
And it lives up to its name.... My Flying V once Flew into my Sunn Amp...

I play better with a jazz pickup installed.. thats why I have one crammed over my Precisions pickup. Barely fits, but I play better.
