One of the best kept secrets in the world of Ibanez basses are the RD series (300, 500, 900)
I own a RD500 myself and it's IMO the best value for the money of any bass available. Playability is excellent, tone is excellent and it's one of the most versatile basses around. I actually stumbled upon this bass after I bought/returned a Squier VM 70's Jazz. I had to pay 100euro's extra for the RD500 but it was more then worth it, a day and night difference between the Squier. I allways wanted that Jazzbass sound so I thought the Squier would give me that....not so, but the RD500 did. With new strings the RD500 can give you that Marcus Miller zing when slapping, pretty amazing for such a cheap bass.
I also own an SR1200-VNF, but lot's of times I prefer the RD500, especially when playing "classic" slap 'n pop lines.
So, who else owns an Ibanez RD?
