Here's my ultra rare Sonic by Lumtric Jaco Style Tribute Jazz Bass. Lumtric was started by Yukata Takeda (the master luthier who still runs the company) and Hiro Miura (a luthier who worked for Moon and currently works for Xotic). This bass has an alder body, maple neck, and a polyester coated, lined ebony fretless neck. The body and back of the neck are finished with lacquer. The Harmonic Design pickups have Sonic's Turbo Switch. Pulling up on the tone pot changes the pickup wiring from parallel to series. Note the unique proprietary two piece bridge with an ebony plate under the saddles. Plays and sounds like a dream-instant "mwah!" Sonic basses are not exported, so they are hardly ever seen in the US. In Japan, Sonic basses go for about $2,500 and up.

Squier SQ P bass. The neck plays really nice. Someone upped the pickups to Fender Lace Sensor's and put a squier CV HM bridge on it. And of course the jimmy pic on the pickguard.

1983 Ibanez Roadstar II RB888 "Bean" bass. Very rare-made only for one year, as far as I can tell. Skinny body with single Super J6 pickup with 3 way "Tri Sound Selector Switch" for series humbucking/single coil/parallel humbucking. Huge tonal variations. Perfect fretwork. Sting played a fretless version during the Soul Cages tour.

I have to agree about the greatness of the Greco super real thunderbirds. I looked for years and finally picked up a single pup version.

I don't even remember where or when I got this.Just pulled it out of the attic where it's been for at least 15 years, but I got it before that. Never gigged with it - just brought it in to get cleaned, adjusted and check wiring. We'll see how it sounds.
