Unfortunately, I think you're right. That's where I got mine back in '94 and it's the only place I've even seen them new.

When I was 12 I got my first guitar for xmas. It was plastic. ALL plastic. The frets were plastic - the pickup was molded into the plastic body. It came with a little 5 inch speaker. It was a right guitar. I just played it lefty and didn't bother re-stringing it.

About a year later when I tried to hook up with a band they wanted a bass player - so I switched to bass. The only bass around was my friend's cheapo dept store model handed down from his older brother. ALso a righty. Didn't re-string that either. No one told me to and it didn't feel awkward or "wrong".

I do have to find work arounds in fingering certain chords with an E string root. And I don't really slap & pop much either. Slap more than pop. Not logistically feasable.

Other than that - I don't feel limited.

Steve Lawson on the other hand is a lefty who learned to play bass righty. Total sell out to the Dark Side. ;)

hehe :D actually my aunt chose it for me at guitar center LA, i was on the other side of the globe - working so i can pay on my new sheet matching bass.

yeah, it was mine for a good while. GREAT sound, I just couldn't quite ever get to grips with the finish for me.

It also looked a bit small on me, but this didn't stop me from recently picking up a Black/White tux Rapture J/J 5. I know, it doesn't officially exist without pics, so I'll post 'em later.

Well, you know, black is so slimming! :D

I'm not totally crazy about the teal color myself, but....what a killer bass it is. I used it last week on a session and it sounded fantastic. It's now my main fiver.

I have to say I've never cared for the MVP body shape, but they are growing on me the more pics I see posted.
