I still have the 'burst one, I sold the green one to a friend.
fatsobasso I have a 2005 and 1998 rb5 in sunburst and shorline gold,i just traded my pbass for a rb4,great basses, here is a pic of me and Roscoe Beck,i look bad, but i had a really long day,Roscoe can play some serious walking bass lines.
I like the burst and the shoreline gold best of the fives and the jury is still out for the fours. (That's because I have not had a chance to play one yet.) The burst with tort is Fender's trademark to me, but I really don't know who started that combination.
Are your necks the same dimensions? Mine are slightly different but I wish they were all the exact same.
There is a guy at pickguardian.com here in Columbus Ohio that makes them (great price) in just a few days. His name is Tony. He already have the template for 4's and 5's.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!![]()
That's the only thing about this bass that I don't like. Well, they could make an unlined fretless version. That'd make my day.
The RBV with T.I. flats, switched to the rear p/up, really sings thru the p.a. during a live performance; a fretless would be phenominal!
Thanks for the Pickguardian tip Bassmangreg. I'm going to order a tort guard for my sunburst RB V next week.
Here's me with a custom roscoe beck IV. It's not mine, it belongs to the amazing bass player to the left of me, Joey Canaday. It has bartolini pickups in it, aguilar preamp, and has gotten a relic treatment from a pro in nashville, I dont know who though. Sweet bass though, sounds amazing in the mix!
I'm glad I could help. I am thinking about getting one more for the red bass.
How 'bout a pearl white or a white one instead (assuming yours still has the mint one)? I think that'd look great too.
