How much did you have to paid to get your bass refinished?
I have an NS2 that i want to get refinished but the place that someone recommended is a little bit pricey.

It's actually waiting to be refinished. It's too cold here in Chicago to hang out in the garage for a week or so and strip/refinish it. Once it get's warmer, I'll remove the poly -- if the wood has an attractive grain, I'll prbably just tung oil it -- if not, I plan to hand-rub a tobacco sunburst. I guess we'll see.


Alternatively, you could send your to Wilkins to get it re-finished. They are not cheap, but everything I have ever seen from them looks better than the original.

That was my very first Spector which i bought used in 1991 and then i upgraded the pick ups and the nut.

Now i have 4 of them..

Damn that is sexy!!! I have the same with the black cherry finish. They couldn't get a blue one for me at the time i was ordering. Might just have to buy another one after seeing that.

The sixer on the right is a Korean made Legend model. I can't speak for Josh but I ended up selling mine. It played pretty well but the electronics weren't my cup of tea and the battery was always dead (i never left it plugged in, didn't play all that much used good batteries and got it checked twice for wiring defects...eventually just had a passive switch put in but straight passive HZs are a little weak.) The jack also went on mine shortly after I bought it and the finish scratched and dented easily. I still think it's a pretty good bass for the $ and prefered it in feel to the Yamahas in the similar price range.

Hey thanks man...yeah at the time i had the choice of the black cherry one as well..or the blue burst...I love blue basses so I went with that...Fantastic bass though eh?...My only thing i might do down the road is swap in a 40CS bridge pup and BQC system and re-wire it for 18 volt operation...I have the BQC system in one of my ibanez basses with the EMG p/j pups and am loving that...But yeah those basses are pretty gorgeous though...I'm blown away by the euro line everytime...Makes me wonder what the full tilt USA ones are like...The big music store never has them here...ah well guess i'll have to take a road trip down there to check them out in person.

Hey i'm just curious why so many Euro basses and one NS 6? I mean you have a gorgeous and versitile collection and well presented here, but I know for me I'd put all that money towards two USA ones both 4 and 5 strings and two 4 and 5 string Euro LX back-ups for those... Is there something that you prefer in the Euro models over the USA ones? I have never tried a USA one yet so again just curious. Beautiful collection though!
