I’m currently researching
Phase 1 of my plan for eventual World Domination...an electric bike!

My Bride, gawd blesser, is 100% correct when she points out that we can’t have a dog because my feet (14 years worth of chronic peripheral neuropathy, 3 years worth of plantar fasciitis) will not allow me to walk the dog, and her plate is Full.

I postulate, and she agrees, that an electric bike would be a good way, a responsible way, to spend some $timulus money...keep it local, don’t be afraid of buying a gently-used bike...so that after we become accustomed to it...maybe buy a second one for her...........I bring up how much better life is with a dog!!

...gotta be a rescue...ought to be a ‘mature’ dog...a greyhound is the perfect size!!

Greyhounds are sprinters. They need to run, but not really far. A bike for "walks" is a good idea, but a large fenced area (fenced park, etc) where s/he can really run is essential.
For Greyhounds, IMO, life is divided into Running, Resting, and Waiting to Run...
We used to take Fawnie to a dog park. She had no interest in chasing balls but loved to chase (and race) dogs.
We'd figure out which of the "ball dogs" was fastest - the one who always beat the others to the ball.
Then we'd hold Fawnie while the ball thrower threw the ball, spot that dog half of the park length, and then let her go.
She's always beat him to the ball, then wouldn't pick it up.

She was an amazing, beautiful being and I still miss her. Run free, good girl.

Greyhound racing in Florida was voted out last year and was to be phased out entirely by the end of 2020. However, with COVID-19 the racing was phased out sooner than expected. For anyone interested in adopting a greyhound, there are 1500 out of Florida that currently need homes that can be found through greyhound adoption agencies.

I’ve been watching YT vids of this guy that uses tame minks and dogs to control rat infestations. The mink goes into holes and small spaces and flushes the rats out. Then the dogs just go to town on them. It’s kinda gruesome but in a satisfying way.
