Golden retriever? I never realized until my son and daughter in law got two of them how expressive their eyes are. The female they just adopted was about a year old and her family had to rehome her after they had a baby that was terribly allergic to her. She looked SO sad and lost when they first got her. But she looks much happier now, you can see it on her face.

Newborn baby and "allergies", still a classic. I guess they didn't deserve that dog.

I would have thought it was a "dodge" too. But the family still checks in from time to time on her progress and how she's doing with my son. I honestly think they were sincere in having issues. Either way my son and daughter in law love her to death and she's a good part of the family.

I'm sorry for judging them, I don't even know these people but I've heard that thing so many times that I tend to be suspicious.
I'm happy to hear that they kept in touch, it's definitely a good sign.

No worries, I was suspicious over such a reason too. But hearing that info from my son made me feel better. She's a sweet pup so it all worked out, she's a truly spoiled and happy pup with them.

This was the photo they saw of her that made up their mind to adopt her.
