The level of cruelty that people display towards animals is beyond me. Regardless of the reason someone originally comes into possession of an animal, there is no reason for them to keep said animal if the situation changes for whatever reason. There are shelters that will take their animal and place them (or at least try really hard) in a situation where they will thrive. I just don't know how people can treat animals like they do.

Nice, we have a family place we go to often on Lake Superior but certainly not a daily thing for us. The pups love the water. The kayak? Not so much.

Otto and his buddy Pythagoras resting.
Otto was a 3 month old puppy surviving on his own in an industrial park with his brother when he was picked up. His brother was fostered that day and we got Otto the next day.
It took a lot of work to get him to willing to get into a car, and he still doesn't fully trust them though he knows that good things happen when we take him in one.
