I'm stunned by the magnitude of your losses, and send you love and condolences.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. I try to keep in mind that people are doing it way harder than I am in the scheme of things. No point in feeling sorry for myself.

I've been made aware that the pups on offer are 1/4 Mastiff and 1/4 Shar Pei. Makes me want to get one just to see what it turns out like. Also a good friend, well versed in pig dogs, is happy to take it off my hands if the need arises. Looks like I'll be getting a puppy in the near future.

Photos to surely follow.

Just saw this article about blue green algae and how it is toxic for dogs. With the hot weather there may be some heading out to the lake. Please be aware of the water and make sure your dog is not drinking any blue green algae. It can also be toxic for you dog even swimming in it. Hope this prevents someone the heartache of losing a beloved pet.

When my mom died in April, I 'inherited' her 8.5 yr old Great Dane. She has arthritis, trouble standing sometimes, and can't really do stairs at all. But she's a good dog, and has *really* enjoyed having dogs to actually play with. Yesterday, she discovered squirrels. My mom would be absolutely THRILLED to see this picture - I never would have guess this would have been possible!

Sorry to hear about your mom. She left you a beautiful dog. Seeing those squirrels most have brought the fire back in her.
